Schedule: 

2- 3 times/ week

Specimen Requirements: 

Collection: 2.7 mL Blood in a Blue Top Tube.
Pediatric volume: 2.7 mL.
Collect a minimum of two (2) 2.7-mL blue top tubes.
Transport: Whole blood may be transported at ambient or refrigerated temperature. Separated plasma, not yet frozen, may be transported at refrigerated temperature, while frozen plasma should be sent on dry ice to prevent thawing in transit.
Unacceptable conditions: Serum; QNS; Overfilled; clotted

 

Notes: 

Reflex Criteria: VWD panel auto reflex to PTT. Abnormal results reflex to MD interpretation.

Clinical Indications: Investigation of suspected von Willebrand disease; individual or familial history of von Willebrand disease or bleeding tendency.

Panel includes Factor VIII, RCF, vW factor Antigen.
