Specimen Requirements: 

Collection: 5.0 mL Blood in a Gold Top Tube.
Pediatric volume: 1.0 mL.
Unacceptable conditions: Grossly hemolyzed specimens.
Stability: Ambient: 48 hours; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: 6 months (avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles)

 

Notes: 

Clinical Indications: Helicobacter pylori IgG and IgA antibody seroconversion occur together after 60 days. Samples that have a high titer of both IgG and IgA antibodies to H. pylori in symptomatic individuals may represent an active infection.
