Clinical Indications:  “For a patient with unlikely pre-test probability (Wells’ rules) of DVT, a D-dimer value <0.50 mg/L FEU has a negative predictive value >99% (95% CI = 96-100%) and >99% sensitivity (95% CI = 83.9-100%).

For a patient with low/moderate pre-test probability (Wells’ rules) of PE, a D-dimer value <0.50 mg/L FEU has 99.6% negative predictive value (95% CI = 97.5-100%) and 98.6% sensitivity (95% CI = 92.5-100%).”

PT/INR, PTT, and Fibrinogen may also be run on the same tube.
