Specimen Requirements: 

Collection: 1.0 mL Blood in a Call Lab.
DO NOT REFRIGERATE AFTER COLLECTION. Critical: Samples must remain at ambient temperature during transport. Do not place specimens in outdoor collection boxes during extreme cold or heat
Transport: Room Temperature (17-27C or 63-81F).
Handling: SPECIAL TUBES REQUIRED. CALL 203-200-LABS PLEASE READ COLLECTION INSTRUCTIONS THAT ARE SUPPLIED WITH TUBES. DO NOT REFRIGERATE AFTER COLLECTION. Critical: Samples must remain at ambient temperature during transport. Do not place specimens in outdoor collection boxes during extreme cold or heat.
Unacceptable conditions: Refrigerated samples. Samples under or over filled (see collection instructions).
Stability: After incubation and centrifugation: Refrigerated: 4 weeks.

 

Notes: 

Clinical Indications: Detect latent disease among persons at increased risk for TB. Specific for M. tuberculosis, not NTM or BCG vaccine Do not use alone to diagnose or exclude TB or to assess possible latent disease; result interpretation requires a combination of epidemiological, historical, medical, and diagnostic findings.
