Specimen Requirements: 

Collection: 2.0 bags BreathTek Collection Kit (1 blue/1 pink).
Pediatric patients
<17 yr. old, height and weight are required.> 17 yrs old and under: Height and weight are required
Handling: Transport at room temperature.
Unacceptable conditions: Samples submitted refrigerated or frozen
Stability: 7 days

 

Notes: 

Patient should fast one hour before collection of baseline breath sample.

Antimicrobials, proton pump inhibitors and bismuth preparations are known to suppress

H. pylori and may cause false negative results. The test may be sent two weeks after discontinuing treatment.
