Specimen Requirements: 

Collection: 5.0 mL Blood in a Gold Top Tube.
Pediatric volume: 1 mL.
Unacceptable conditions: Grossly hemolyzed specimens.
Stability: Ambient: 48 hours; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: 3 months

 

Notes: 

Clinical Indications: The tTG IgG assay may aid in the diagnosis of gluten-sensitivity enteropathy (i.e., celiac disease, dermatitis herpetiformis) in tTG IgA negative patients with confirmed IgA deficiency. A negative tTG IgG test alone does not rule out gluten-sensitive enteropathy.

Reference Interval: 

<20 CU = Negative
20-30 CU = Weak Positive
>30 CU = Positive
