Specimen Requirements: 

Collection: 5.0 mL Blood in a Gold Top Tube.
Pediatric volume: 1 mL.

Unacceptable conditions: Grossly hemolyzed.
Stability: Ambient 48 hours; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 1 month

 

Notes: 

Clinical Indications: Monoclonal increases in IgG or IgA are often associated with diseases such as multiple myeloma or lymphoma. A monoclonal increase in IgM is commonly associated with Waltenstrom's macroglobulinemia.

Test will be cancelled if ordered more than once within seven days.
