Specimen Requirements: 

Collection: Collect 3.0 mL Blood in a Gold Top Tube.
Pediatric volume: 1.0 mL.

Unacceptable conditions: Grossly hemolyzed, or severely lipemic specimens
Stability:
After separation from cells: Ambient: 48 hours; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: 1 year (avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles) 

 

Notes: 

Reflex Criteria: A positive Streptozyme screen will reflex to a titer at an additional charge.

Outdated test. Recommend DNase-B antibody and/or Streptolysin O antibody tests.
