Specimen Requirements: 

Collection: 10.0 mL Urine in a 24 Hr Urine Container.
Pediatric volume: 2 mL.
Please specify on the request form and on the urine container the total 24-hour urine volume. Transport at room temperature.
Adjust pH to < 3.0 with 25 mL 6N HCl before aliquoting for testing.
Transport: Ship room temperature.
Handling: Patient should refrain from taking excessive amounts of ascorbic acid or oxalate-rich foods (i.e., spinach, coffee, tea, chocolate, rhubarb) for at least 48 hours prior to collection period.
Stability: Room temperature: 6 days Refrigerated: 7 days Frozen: 4 months
