Specimen Requirements:  Collection: 4.0 mL Blood in a Blue Top Tube - Warm Water.
Pediatric volume: 2 mL.
Place specimen in cup of warm water and hand-deliver to laboratory. Tubes must be full.
Transport: Maintain whole blood at 37C from collection to transport; do not refrigerate or freeze at any time.
Handling: Maintain whole blood at 37C from collection to transport; do not refrigerate or freeze at any time..
Unacceptable conditions: Serum. Heparinized plasma. Grossly hemolyzed or lipemic specimens
Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 1 week; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: Unacceptable

Notes: 

Clinical Indications: Cryofibrinogen has been associated with certain metastatic carcinoma and Raynaud's syndrome.
