Specimen Requirements: 

Collection: 4.0 mL Blood in a Blue Top Tube.
Pediatric volume: 2 mL.
Lt. blue (sodium citrate). Refer to Specimen Handling at aruplab.com for hemostasis/thrombosis specimen handling guidelines.
Transport: CRITICAL FROZEN. Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered.
Unacceptable conditions: Serum. EDTA plasma, clotted or hemolyzed specimens.
Stability: Ambient: 4 hours; Refrigerated: Unacceptable; Frozen: 2 weeks

 

Notes: 

Reflex Criteria: If Reptilase Time is elevated, then Reptilase Time 1:1 mix will be added.

Clinical Indications: Assist in diagnosing dysfibrinogenemia or abnormalities with fibrin polymerization.
